“Roomboter amandelstaaf” is a typical Dutch product made with puff pastry and almond paste. The amandelstaven are typically for the December holidays.
Every year, Van der Pol organizes the “roomboter amandelstaven” contest in co-operation with our partner called “Het echte bakkers gilde”. This year 172 bakers participated in the contest. The jury, our Mark van Wijk and specialists of the Dutch Bakery Centre, spoke of a high quality of the products. 15 bakers made it to the finals.
This year the award of best “Roomboter amandelstaaf” went to Van Walderveen from Geldermalsen. Toet from Apeldoorn became second and Koenen was third.
Nice to know: The winner and the numbers 2 and 3 made the amandelstaven with Van der Pol puff pastry dough!! A big compliment for us.
